Rock The World

Thunder Warrior

You know or not that Odin had two ravens who traveled the world that day and recounted all that had happened in the world every night. You can tell whether or not he had a spear, a gift from Loki, which was forged by the dwarves. But what I am sure you know is that Thor wielded a hammer … …. That hammer called Mjolnir, and he was feared by the enemies of Thor, for the creatures of the underworld and giants … and also loved and respected by those who worship this deity warrior. Itself is a symbol in the Norse legend, mythology and symbolism.

But Thor had other facets, less known than his role as warrior and defender of Midgard, which was delivered in body and soul. Unlike Odin, Thor has a strong protector, which made it loved by many farmers and peaceful men praying for someone who Velascos for the welfare of his family. In addition, Mjolnir, the Hammer of Thor, is a symbol associated with fertility in some drawings and prints you can see the hammer in her lap a bride as a fertility ritual, and as a symbolic interaction between heaven and earth. He is the God of Thunder, the god of heaven, and should not be forgotten that in the past it was believed that lightning in the storms of summer crops ripen. Another test, another symbolic gesture that relates the powerful hammer with fertility, is the use that was given at the consecration of different natures, which include its importance at weddings because the bride and groom played the hammer and he swore on his eternal love. But not all uses of this tremendous hammer were so peaceful. Thor is the protector of Midgard, the world of mortals, and different sources tell of the dangers they would face in its mission.

Other times, Thor used his great weapon against the creatures of Asgard, the Eddas tell of their exploits face against giants, mythological creatures like the serpent of Asgard, and occasionally using his wits instead of their strength, such as his meeting with the dwarf, or the boatman. This aspect of God is the less known, and the image that we have today Thor is closer to that of a warrior strong as a bull and not very clever, but once this god was seen as one of the wisest, able to cope with ingenuity to Odin or Loki and win, who knows the secret of the runes and magic, well versed in poetry … etc. But we all see the image of a mighty warrior muscular, capable of throwing the hammer at a great distance, hitting and return to your hand. Or imagine calling a storm and throwing a huge bolt from the hammer … or perhaps we think of the great and terrible warrior ever born. His greatness is reflected in his palace, which is larger than all the palaces of Asgard, where he lived with his wife Sif and their children in a building of five hundred forty rooms. As recorded in this building would the peasants and slaves dead. Nahuel Gladish.
