Rock The World

Thursday Tragedy

Chronology of disaster recovery piano, for professionals and amateurs morning phone call on Thursday, interrupting my current plans for the repair and adjustment of the next Soviet piano. I was about to out of the house to order, when agitated female voice asked for immediate assistance. At that time, no secret, I felt, rather, only compassion for the owner "Petrof", which is telling us about the tragedy. I asked her call back, so as to enter the place, it was necessary to cancel the planned order. I must say that the spring flooding this year touched directly or indirectly, almost everyone in Uralsk. Someone has lost the house and property, garages and cars.

Many of the cottages and garage cooperatives are still in captivity in the water element. The tragedy of the people is exacerbated by the fact that under the pressure of the situation, they stop believing in tomorrow, so as to many of the "big water" is a step into destitution. Upon arrival at the place I found depressing picture, in the great hall with high ceiling, things scattered around, piles of mud and filth, expensive furniture overturned, coming in at once disrepair, the smell of mold and chill. Should be noted that this was the first day, when it became possible to get to the venue by road. For a whole week this elite village on the outskirts of the city was cut off, and only the bravest, washable element ocean currents on the boats sailed to the houses, trying to save something.

The Roots of Rock

We all know what ‘rock music’ is, but have you ever tried to define it? Perhaps a good way to begin to understand what rock music is is to take a brief look at its beginnings. Many people wrongly believe that rock music first started in the mid-1950s with such performers as Elvis Presley, who, according to Rolling Stone Magazine, produced the first ever ‘rock and roll’ record when he recorded “That’s All Right (Mama)””in 1954.

However, without the innovations and inspiration of the musical avant-garde of the 1940s and early 50s, today’s rock music could never have developed. The 40s and 50s witnessed the emergence of rock and roll, rhythm and blues, and country music. Modern rock was also influenced by folk music, jazz, and even classical music. One of the main identifiers of rock music is the unique sound of electric guitars, bass guitars, drums, and keyboards such as piano, organs and later in the 60s, the amazing synthesizer.

The music itself is often quite simple in its construction.  Rhythms are most often 4/4 meter, no syncopation, and a continuous snare drum in the background keeping the time on the second and fourth beats in each measure. Guitar solos are almost requisite, with harmonica, keyboards and sometimes wind instruments like saxophone.
